On average, we lose 22 Veterans to suicide due to Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) every single day. Because many of these deaths are not considered an “act of service,” these service members often do not receive the honor they deserve for the sacrifices they have made serving our country. All of us at Flames to Hope, Beyond Brotherhood and Changing Course Foundation understand what it is like to lose all hope. We believe every fallen military service member deserves honor regardless of cause of death. This September, we want to honor ALL of our fallen military services members and show those currently suffering from PTSD, that their lives matter.
On September 21, 2019 we will be hosting the 4th annual 2.2 mile walk in combat boots (optional) for the 22 Veteran’s we lose to suicide every day. The walk will be held at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center, during Veteran’s Suicide Prevention Awareness month. We are very excited about this year’s event and would like to invite all of you to help us honor all of those who have served and bring even more awareness to this deadly epidemic that is claiming the lives of our Military Veterans. This is a free family friendly event. Food and fun equine activities will be provided.
