MENU OPTION ACTIVITIES:

1.KLAK/KMKT/KMAD participates in an internship program with several local Colleges.

In the fall of 2009, contact was made via telephone and email, with Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Grayson County College, Austin College and Texas A&M University at Commerce, TX, Collin County Community College, University of North Texas, and Workforce Solutions expressing Next Media’s desire to utilize interns from the schools should the need present itself. 

A.  Stacy Daugherty- Southeastern Oklahoma State University Internship Program.  Stacy interned with us from September 2009 through December 2009 when she graduated from SOSU with a degree in Broadcast Communications.  Stacy learned all aspects of on air, production and administrative duties.  Stacy was also our sideline reporter during our High School football broadcasts.

B.  Sarah Brown-Workforce Solutions Texoma Summer Internship Program.  Sarah interned with us from June 2009 through August 2009.  By Participating is the WST program, we enabled Sarah the opportunity to experience first-hand what day-to-day business is like working for a radio station.  Sarah learned how to dub commercials, voice commercials and update commercials.  She also helped with production, traffic, administrative duties and assisting in station live broadcasts.

1.  KLAK/KMKT/KMAD participated in Texoma Expo 2009 at Midway Mall.  It was held February 20^th and 21^st 2009. Managers Jason Taylor, Johnny Baublis, Dave Hilton and Randy Friend were on hand at various times to answer any questions about broadcasting employment, as well as taking applications and resume’s from those who brought them to the event.

2.  KLAK/KMKT/KMAD participated in Workforce Texoma Job Fair 2009 held April 24^th, 2009.  Managers Jason Taylor, Dave Hilton and Randy Friend were on hand to answer any questions about broadcasting opportunities, handout/receive applications and accept resume’s from perspective applicants.

3.  KLAK/KMKT/KMAD participated in Career day, April 10^th 2009 at Vega Elementary School in McKinney.

4.  KLAK/KMKT/KMAD Manager Johnny Baublis participated in career day at Dr. Jack Cockrill Elementary School in McKinney.
