The 16th Annual Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive

The 16th Annual Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive, benefiting the local Salvation Army, is coming up November 19, 20 & 21 at Walmart in Sherman.

Once again, our three NextMedia hometown radio stations – 93.1 Katy Country, Mad Rock 102.5 and 97.5 KLAK – are teaming up with our generous sponsors to collect truck loads of non-perishable food items and cash to help feed our neighbors in need this holiday season. This year’s Food Drive is presented by RGB Eye Associates, Carrus Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital and Hutchins Plumbing & Air Conditioning

All three of our stations will broadcast live in front of Walmart at Highways 82 and 75 (click for map) all day Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 19th - 20th, and half of Wednesday, Nov. 21st asking you to stop by and donate to the cause.

There are a lot of volunteers helping out as well – including the Skaggs family. Until his death in the summer of 2005, Bob Skaggs was a tireless supporter of the annual food drive and took vacation time every fall to help out. He often was accompanied by his children, whom he wanted to teach the importance of volunteering. Every year, to honor his memory, his family helps with the event. And now, his children’s young children are getting into the act!

You can help out as well – just by dropping by and donating a few items or a few dollars. Every little bit helps.
