Da Vinci's Last Supper live, in 4D at Waples UMC in Denison
The Last Supper, an iconic image created centuries ago by the hand of Leonardo da Vinci in an Italian mural, has come to visualize that pivotal moment in the life of Jesus Christ that embodies the Easter season.
As in years past, Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison will bring a recreation of this masterpiece to life with the "Living Lord's Supper."
Under the direction of Sam Patty, members of Waples' congregation will faithfully re-enact the Lord's Last Supper on Sunday, April 13, at 7 p.m. in the Waples UMC sanctuary, located at 830 W. Main Street in Denison.
This free event is open to the public and will feature full musical interludes to accompany the powerful word's of Jesus Christ as he prepared for his last supper and his inevitable crucifixion. The script was written by Sam Patty and music will be provided by The Waples' Chancel Choir.
This event, on Palm Sunday evening, will kick off the holy Easter week, to be followed by a Maundy Thursday service at Waples at 6:30 p.m. and a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. as well. Easter morning will feature a sunrise service at Munson Park Pavilion in Denison, open to all who wish to come. Services on Sunday at Waples UMC will be at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Please come join us for these holy celebrations, and may the Lord's peace be with you!
