The Plaids are back!  The Plaids are back!  Rehearsals for the Holiday Musical tribute “Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings” are in full swing after SCP’s monster piece “Frankenstein 1930”.  Produced in the Historic Finley Theater after a very successful summer run of “Forever Plaid” as SCP’s annual summer fundraiser; “Plaid Tidings” offers the best of “Forever Plaid” tied up in a nifty package with a big Christmas bow on top.  Filled with Christmas standards that have all be “Plaid-erized”, the boys are back to do their Christmas special in style.

Reprising their roles are Paul Jordan as band leader “Frankie”, Nick Timmerman as heart- throb “Smudge”, Aaron Adair as the coagulating “Jinx”, and Blake Rice as the crooning “Sparky”.  Plaid follows the evening of four musicians who never got to perform their dynamite musical act in life, but get a second chance in the after-life.

“We are also planning something new this year, during this Holiday performance.” Mentions SCP Artistic Director Anthony Nelson, “The SCP Theater Guild is organizing a donation drive that will help fulfill the lists of local Charities, Grand Central Station and Children’s Express” explains Nelson.  “There will be donation boxes in the Box Office Lobby of the Honey McGee as well as the Finley lobby during regular box office hours and during the run of the “Plaid Tidings”, people will be able to drop requested items off.  If you go to SCP’s website, and click on support scp, you will find lists of needed items that we are hoping to help collect and donate to these charities.  I am personally excited about the Theater Guild’s commitment about doing this, after all the support the theater receives from the community, it will be nice that we will be able to provide a venue to help back.  Theater is a great vehicle for drives like this.  We will also be holding a preview performance on November 24th in Kelly’s square during Fulbelli’s Sunday brunch service; the mini-concert of “Plaid Tidings” will begin at 1pm.  Lot’s to celebrate this Holiday Season” smiles Nelson.
